In Between

As the years go by
she grows smaller. Thin skin
covers a lighter body.
She holds tight to the remnants
of her past, the fragile roots
of her before so finely worn
by time that they are slowly fading,

like the Ghost Orchid hidden in the woods,
poised at the edge of being and not-being,
while time allows.
